Post date: April 5, 2025

On April 4, 2025, UPAL hosted a group of 40 children from Chapel Hill, NC!

The middle and high schoolers were eager to learn about Lead Poisoning Prevention and Environmental Justice.

Community Advisory Committee Member Pamela Bingham presented on the Principles of EJ followed by a tour of the Hub, some shopping at the HuBoutique, playtime in the game room, planting, and posing.

Thanks to Sarah Melissa Witiak and VSU for the two Fringe trees that will help to beautify the entrance to the Hub.

The youth, traveling with chaperones, were visiting HBCUs and other colleges including Howard University and Virginia State University as they pondered higher education options.

We were blessed to be able to engage with Blue Ribbon Mentor Advocate and look forward to staying connected and nurturing the brilliance in our youth.
